Life
Synopsis
Life is built around the collision between two philosophies running the same hospital: Ye Jin-woo, an emergency medicine specialist who treats every decision as a patient issue first, and Koo Seung-hyo, the newly appointed CEO who treats the hospital as a business that has to survive on its own numbers. Their conflict over what the hospital exists to do pulls in nearly every department around them.
Junior pediatric specialist Lee No-eul, orthopedic specialist and hospital judge Ye Seon-woo, cardiothoracic chief Joo Kyung-moon, and neurosurgery chief and hospital director Oh Se-hwa are each drawn into the fallout as budget decisions, staffing cuts, and hospital politics start overriding medical judgment in ways that put both doctors and patients at risk.
Life starred Lee Dong-wook as Jin-woo and Cho Seung-woo as Seung-hyo, with Won Jin-ah, Lee Kyu-hyung, Yoo Jae-myung, and Moon So-ri in key supporting roles. The 16-episode series aired on JTBC from July to September 2018.
