Editorial policy

This is the set of rules the archive is written under. It exists so that a reader can judge a page by something other than how confident it sounds, and so that the people writing it have something to point at when somebody asks for an exception.

Nothing is invented

Every fact on a record comes from a published source, and the record carries its sources. Where a fact cannot be sourced, the field stays empty. An empty field is not a failure, it is the honest state of a thing we do not know yet.

• No filler. A biography does not get padded with guesses to make it look complete.
• No rumour presented as fact, and no unattributed claim, however many sites repeat it.
• Where two credible sources disagree, the page says so rather than picking one quietly.
• Numbers that look like measurements are measurements. A count, a rating or a total on this site is read from the archive itself at the moment the page is built, never typed in.

Private life is not published

Profiles cover professional life: credits, roles, releases, the work. They do not cover relationships, health, finances, sexuality, family members who are not public figures, or anything else a person has not put on the public record themselves. This holds even when the claim is everywhere else, and it holds for people who are widely discussed.

An unconfirmed claim about a private life is not published here. If a person or their representative asks for something in this area to be removed, it is removed without argument and without asking why.

Ratings

A rating shown on a record is the average of anonymous reader votes, and it appears only once enough votes exist for an average to mean anything. Editors do not set or adjust ratings. Nobody can buy one, raise one or have one taken down.

Popularity is measured, not asserted

Where this site says something is the most read, that is a count of real page views over a stated period, described in the privacy policy. If there is not enough data to say it, the page says something smaller and true instead, such as the most recent release. No page here carries the words trending or popular with nothing behind them.

Images

One poster per title, one portrait per person, credited to the rights holder, used to identify and comment on the work. Decorative artwork on guides is generated by us and never depicts a real person. The whole position, and how to have something removed, is on the DMCA and copyright page.

Artificial intelligence

AI tools are used here for drafting, structuring and illustration, under human editing. They are not used to invent facts, and a passage produced by a tool is checked against sources the same way a passage typed by a person is. Nothing is published that a person has not read. Decorative AI artwork is marked as illustration and never used on a record about a person.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made before anything commercial touches a page. Advertising, affiliate commission, screeners, press access and gifts buy no coverage, no place in a list, no rating and no removal of one. The full list is on the advertising disclosure. Where an editorial rule and a commercial arrangement ever conflict, the rule wins and the arrangement goes.

Corrections

Errors are fixed quickly and, where the error changed what a page meant, the page says what was changed and when. The procedure is on the corrections policy. Pages are never deleted to make a mistake disappear.

Sources we trust, and sources we do not

• Primary first: a broadcaster, a distributor, an agency, an official release, a production’s own announcement
• Then established outlets with their own reporting and their own corrections policy
• Reference databases are a starting point for finding a fact, not proof of one
• Aggregator sites, fan wikis, social posts and screenshots are not sources

Who writes it

The site is written by the people on the masthead. There are no guest posts, no sponsored articles, no link placements and no open submissions, so every page here was written by somebody answerable for it.
