Heaven’s Garden

After her husband's business collapses and he is imprisoned, Jung Jae In returns with her two daughters to her mountain hometown in Gangwon-do, moving in with her estranged father, Jung Boo Shik. Years of unresolved resentment between father and daughter resurface as the family adjusts to rural life after decades apart in Seoul.

Jae In's older daughter, who is her husband's child from a previous marriage, struggles most with the move, and her place within the family becomes a recurring source of tension as the household tries to settle into village life. Her adjustment, alongside her mother's efforts to reconnect with the father she left behind, drives much of the drama's early conflict.

Around the central family, the series follows several interconnected storylines involving other residents of the village, as the wider community navigates its own frictions and reconciliations. As described in its own premise, the drama takes an optimistic view of resentment, pain and reconciliation within a family, building toward forgiveness, humility and goodness.

Heaven's Garden aired on Channel A for 30 episodes, airing Saturday and Sunday from December 3, 2011 to March 11, 2012. The cast is led by Yoo Ho Jung as Jae In and Choi Bool Am as her father, with Kim Sae Ron as Kang Eun Soo among the supporting cast.
