Kathryn Bernardo is a Filipino actress known for the KathNiel pairing with Daniel Padilla and for starring opposite Alden Richards in Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019) and Hello, Love, Again (2024).
Biography
Kathryn Bernardo, born Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo on March 26, 1996, in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, is a Filipino actress and singer signed to Star Magic since 2003. She began as a child actress in ABS-CBN's It Might Be You that same year, before joining the sketch comedy show Goin' Bulilit from 2005 to 2008.
Her breakthrough came with the 2010 remake of Mara Clara, where she played the title role. In 2012 she starred in Princess and I opposite Daniel Padilla and Enrique Gil, and her pairing with Padilla, known as KathNiel, went on to lead the series Got to Believe (2013-2014) and films including She's Dating the Gangster (2014) and Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016).
Bernardo starred opposite Alden Richards in Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019), which became the highest-grossing Filipino film of its time, and reunited with him for Hello, Love, Again (2024), the first Filipino film to gross over 1 billion pesos. She won the FAMAS Award for Best Actress in 2024 for A Very Good Girl (2023) and received the Seoul International Drama Award for Outstanding Asian Star in 2022.
Beyond acting, she has built a business portfolio that includes the nail salon chain KathNails by KCMB, launched in 2017, and Isla Amara, a boutique hotel in El Nido, Palawan, co-founded with Piolo Pascual in 2022. In 2025 she began serving as a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent season 7.
