Synopsis
Super Hearer (슈퍼히어러) was a tvN music game show broadcast on Sunday nights from 16 June to 4 August 2019, 8 episodes in all. Each week five singers performed for a panel of musicians called Hearers, who could not see them and had to pick out the ones who matched a theme using only their voices. A second panel, the Villains, acted and talked over the singers to throw the Hearers off, to the point where even a singer's gender or nationality was hard to guess. PD Min Chul-ki described it as a truth game played with music, made mainly to be fun.
Jang Sung-kyu presented. Kangta of H.O.T. and K.Will sat on the Hearer panel in every episode, Yoon Jong-shin in the first two and Jang Yoon-jeong in episodes 1, 3, 4 and 6. Kim Gu-ra, Uhm Hyun-kyung and Hwang Je-sung were Villains throughout, with Boom (all but episode 2) and g.o.d's Park Joon-hyung (episodes 1 to 4, 7 and 8). Prize money went to the Hearers when they guessed right and to the contestants when they were fooled. The themes moved from real women and real Koreans to rappers, trot singers, rock singers and trained vocalists.
Cha Eun Woo of ASTRO, then a former MC of MBC's Show! Music Core, was the guest Hearer in episode 1 on 16 June 2019, filling the fifth seat. The theme that night was to find the singers who were really women. The Hearers got both rounds wrong and the contestants went home with 3,000,000 won.

Themes and messages
The premise tests how much a listener can tell from a voice alone. Each theme picks one assumption people make about singers, such as sex, nationality, age or genre, and the Villains' job is to exploit it.
