I Summon You, Gold!
Synopsis
I Summon You, Gold! (금 나와라, 뚝딱!) follows Jung Mong Hee, a spirited street vendor and aspiring jewelry designer, whose ordinary life is upended when she is mistaken for Son Yoo Na, a wealthy heiress she happens to resemble. Both roles are played by Han Ji Hye.
Wealthy businessman Park Hyun Soo (Yeon Jung Hoon), still reeling from his troubled marriage to Yoo Na, spots Mong Hee and asks her to pose as his estranged wife to smooth over a family crisis. Mong Hee reluctantly agrees, and the impersonation pulls her deep into the secrets, rivalries and expectations of the affluent Park family.
As the two women's lives become entangled, long-hidden truths about their origins come to the surface, testing loyalties on both sides. Mong Hee's own family, including her sister Jung Mong Hyun (Baek Jin Hee) and brother Jung Mong Kyu (Kim Hyung Jun), and Hyun Soo's brother Park Hyun Tae (Park Seo Joon) and family friend Min Sung Eun (Lee Soo Kyung), are each drawn into the fallout.
Blending romance with family melodrama, the show plays out the culture clash between a modest, hardworking family and a status-driven chaebol household, asking what happens to love and identity once class lines and long-buried secrets are exposed. The MBC weekend drama ran for 50 episodes from April to September 2013.
