Biography

Kristine Hermosa was born on September 9, 1983, in Masbate, Philippines. She entered show business in 1995 through the youth variety show Ang TV after her sister auditioned at ABS-CBN, and took her first regular acting role in the 1998 drama Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako.

Her breakthrough came in 2000 with the drama Pangako Sa 'Yo opposite Jericho Rosales, with whom she formed the onscreen pairing known as "EchoTin"; the two were named Most Popular Love Team in 2001 and 2002. She went on to star in the dramas Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas (2003–2004) and Dahil May Isang Ikaw (2009), the latter earning an International Emmy nomination, and appeared in films including Forevermore (2002) and several installments of the Enteng Kabisote series.

Hermosa took an extended hiatus from acting beginning around 2010 to focus on her family, returning to television with Hay, Bahay! on GMA Network in 2016 and Bagani on ABS-CBN in 2018. She was married to actor Diether Ocampo from 2004 until the marriage was annulled in 2009, and has been married to Oyo Boy Sotto since January 2011; the couple have six children together.
