The Negotiation

Ha Chae Yun works as a police crisis negotiator known for staying composed no matter who she is talking down. She is called in when Min Tae Gu, an arms dealer holding hostages and demanding a meeting with a specific detective, takes over a hotel room and makes it clear the situation will not end through the usual negotiation playbook.

As Chae Yun works to talk Tae Gu down over a live video call, it becomes clear his demands are not really about money or an escape route, but about surfacing the truth behind his father's death years earlier, a case tied to corruption inside a powerful company and the people who protected it. The negotiation keeps circling back to details only someone close to that original case would know.

With each exchange, Chae Yun has to weigh whether Tae Gu's claims are manipulation or genuine, while the people implicated by what he knows try to shut the situation down before he can say too much. The film follows the negotiation as both a hostage standoff and a slow uncovering of the conspiracy Tae Gu has been chasing since his father's death.
