Synopsis

Your Personal Taxi is an eight-episode Korean music drama that Netflix released in full on 1 October 2026. It is adapted from Lee Mose's Naver webtoon of the same name and co-produced with Japan's Fuji TV, which streams it in Japan on FOD. Netflix's synopsis describes an unusual taxi where passengers open up about their lives and share the songs that mean the most to them.

Cha Tae Hyun plays the driver. His taxi does not pick people up off the street; it takes reservations only, and for each ride he plays the song the passenger has asked for. The series is built as an omnibus: every episode, about 30 minutes long, belongs to one passenger and one song.

The passengers come from very different lives. Gye-hyang (Im Se Mi) runs along the Han River late at night, and her ride is set to Yoon Sang's Running. Chang-sik (Joo Jong Hyuk) is a DJ and vintage-record collector with retro taste, whose episode uses Nami's song Gakkai Hago Sipeun Geudae. Other riders include an amusement-park mascot part-timer (Lee Jae In), an espresso-bar barista (Hyun Bong Sik), a girl who loves bread (Mimi), a forgotten actress (Ye Ji Won), a middle-aged office worker looking back on his youth (Lee Kyoo Hyung) and an older taxi driver about to see his youngest daughter married (Im Ha Ryong).

The soundtrack draws on eight well-known Korean songs, with artists including Black Skirt, Yoon Sang, Lee Juck, Hyukoh and Deux. Netflix tags the series as healing and feel-good.

Jeon Chang-geun directs, and the Netflix credits list him with Kim Jun-mo and Min Dong-hyun as creators. Big In Square and Studio Flow produce. Before its release the series became the first drama ever invited to the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival, where four episodes screened in September 2026.

Themes and messages

A song as a confession. Each passenger chooses the music for their ride, and the song becomes the way the episode reaches what they are carrying.

Small stories in a short form. Cha Tae Hyun told Cine21 at the Jecheon festival that he joined because the format is rare in Korean drama and he hoped more series like it would follow.

Comfort over conflict. Netflix labels the series healing and feel-good, and the stories turn on ordinary moments: a night run, a daughter's wedding, a career that faded.
