Ireland
Synopsis
Lee Joong-ah was adopted by an Irish family at the age of three and grows up to become a medical intern, until her adoptive family is killed in violence connected to her brother's ties to the IRA. Left traumatized and carrying a guilt she can't shake, she travels to Korea to search for the biological family she never knew.
There she meets Kang Gook, a bodyguard whose quiet devotion to her grows almost immediately, and Lee Jae-bok, a drifter she happens to resuscitate after he chokes in front of her, unaware that he is in fact her biological brother. Jae-bok is living with Han Si-yeon, an adult film actress, and as Joong-ah's search for her family unfolds, the four of them are drawn into overlapping relationships that neither the siblings nor their new partners see coming.
"Ireland" aired on MBC from September 1 to October 21, 2004, across 16 episodes, starring Lee Na-young as Joong-ah alongside Kim Min-jun, Kim Min-jung, and Hyun Bin.
