The King of Dramas

Anthony Kim is a brilliant, morally flexible CEO of a Korean drama production company whose career collapses after a death on one of his sets. Looking for a way back in, he sets out to produce a new series, "The Morning of Keijo," and the comeback depends on two people he cannot fully control: Lee Go-eun, an idealistic rookie writer with no interest in doing things the industry's way, and Kang Hyun-min, a self-absorbed Hallyu star used to getting whatever he wants on set.

The production pulls back the curtain on how Korean dramas actually get made, from casting fights to rewrites under deadline, while an unplanned tension builds between Anthony and Go-eun as the two of them fight to get the show finished on their own terms.

The King of Dramas starred Kim Myung-min as Anthony Kim, Jung Ryeo-won as Lee Go-eun, and Choi Siwon as Kang Hyun-min. The 18-episode satire aired on SBS from November 2012 to January 2013, with its run extended by two episodes as the finale leaned into the romance between its two leads.
