Synopsis
Super Junior-M's Guest House (슈퍼주니어M의 게스트하우스) is a 2014 travel reality show in which members of Super Junior-M, the group's Mandarin-language unit, run a guesthouse in Korea for fans flown in from China. SBS made it with SM C&C and the Chinese video platform Youku Tudou, and it ran for 12 episodes on SBS late on Sunday nights, from 27 October 2014 to 19 January 2015, with repeats on SBS Plus, SBS funE and SBS MTV.
The guests were picked through Youku Tudou. An audition in Beijing on 29 August 2014 drew more than 1,000 applicants, and the chosen fans stayed four nights and five days. The members split into teams and worked as guides, each team building its own themed tour of Korea, and at the end the guests voted on which tour they liked best.
Seven members were named at the press conference in July 2014: Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Donghae, Zhou Mi, Eunhyuk, Sungmin and Henry, who sent a video message because of his schedule. Donghae and Eunhyuk led the first tour on a budget of 99,000 won and phoned EXO's Sehun for advice; a later team took its guests through Bukchon by rickshaw.
Seo Kang Joon came on in episode 9, broadcast on the night of 28 December 2014, with his 5urprise bandmates Yoo Il, Gong Myung, Kang Tae-oh and Lee Tae-hwan. Kyuhyun and Zhou Mi took the five actors to a jjimjilbang, where the two groups held a singing contest.
The finale aired with Huh Kyung-hwan as special MC. Sungmin said his one regret was that the tours never got further than Seoul and the east coast of Gangwon, and the members ended by saying they hoped for a second season.
