Synopsis
Dead-End Job is a Netflix mystery horror series in eight episodes, set for worldwide release on 30 October 2026. Netflix calls it a mystery-horror-fantasy about a young man who takes on work from a strange agency and runs into one terrifying phenomenon after another. It is an original story, created under Han Jun-hee, the creative director behind D.P. and Weak Hero Class.
Byeon Hyeok-jun (Lee Jae Wook) is buried in debt and out of options when he finds a flyer for a part-time job with extraordinary pay. It leads him to the Spider Staffing Agency, where the wage starts at 50 times the minimum hourly rate. There is one rule: never tell anyone what happens on the job.
The agency's boss (Lee Hee Joon) insists there is no better gig out there. Netflix describes the reality as one grueling ordeal after another: each assignment drops Hyeok-jun into a workplace where something inexplicable and frightening is going on. The teaser shown in September 2026 included a swarm of moths and a suspicious clown, and the poster shows Hyeok-jun bloodied and exhausted in the wreckage of a convenience store.
Yeon-ju (Go Min Si) is an investigator of workplace accidents. According to Netflix Korea she is a labor safety inspector, and her inquiries into a string of strange incidents lead her toward the agency's secrets. Kim Min Ha plays Ji-yoon, Hyeok-jun's practical younger sister, who is part of the reason he cannot afford to walk away.
Kim Da-min directs from a script by Kyung Min-sun and Lee Shin-ji, and the production company is Shortcake. Choi Hyun Wook and Yoon Kyung Ho are also in the cast, with Ko Chang Seok in a special appearance. Four of the eight episodes premiere first at the Busan International Film Festival on 9 October 2026.

Themes and messages
Debt as the trap. Hyeok-jun takes the job because he has no way out of his debts, and the pay of 50 times minimum wage is what keeps him there.
Work as horror. Netflix describes each assignment as one grueling ordeal after another, set in workplaces where something terrifying is happening. The horror comes from the job itself.
Silence as a condition. The agency's only rule is that no one may reveal what happens at work, and Yeon-ju's job as an accident investigator is to break exactly that silence.
