Destined With You

Lee Hong-jo is a low-level civil servant in a district office. When she opens a wooden chest sealed three hundred years earlier, she unknowingly lifts a family curse that has been slowly killing Jang Sin-yu, a sharp-tongued lawyer whose ancestors carried the same illness for generations.

The two barely tolerate each other at first. Sin-yu keeps his condition hidden and treats Hong-jo's involvement as an inconvenience, while Hong-jo insists on doing her job, planting trees and handling neighborhood complaints, without his interference. The chest keeps pulling them back together anyway, and the curse ties their fates in ways neither one asked for. What starts as office bickering between a civil servant and the lawyer who keeps overruling her turns, slowly, into something neither can walk away from.

Around them, prosecutor Kwon Jae-gyeong, played by Ha Jun, re-enters Hong-jo's life as an old acquaintance turned rival for her attention, while Yoon Na-yeon, played by Yura, complicates Sin-yu's side of the story. The series folds its fantasy premise, the sealed chest, the inherited curse, a talisman tied to the family line, into the ordinary routine of district office work and small-town gossip.
