Fabulous Boys

Fabulous Boys (原來是美男, 2013) is a Taiwanese remake of the South Korean drama You're Beautiful. Gao Mei Nu, a young woman training to become a nun, is asked by her twin brother's talent agency to take his place after he needs surgery and cannot perform. Disguised as her brother, she joins the fictional boy band A.N.JELL as its new lead vocalist, alongside bandmates Jiang Xin Yu, Jeremy and Jin Da Pai.

Living inside the band's dorm, Mei Nu has to hide her identity from her three bandmates while adjusting to the pressures of the idol industry: rehearsals, live performances, media scrutiny and fan events, all while trying to protect her brother's career and reputation. The deception pulls her closer to her fellow band members, and romantic feelings develop despite the risk of exposure, echoing the love-quadrangle structure of the original Korean series.

The series aired for 13 episodes, every Sunday from May 12 to August 4, 2013, on Formosa Television (FTV) and GTV in Taiwan. It starred Lyan Cheng in the dual role of Gao Mei Nu and her twin brother Gao Mei Nan, alongside Jiro Wang, Jacob Hwang and Evan Yo as her bandmates, with Park Shin Hye, the lead actress of the original You're Beautiful, making a special guest appearance in the first episode.

Blending music, comedy and romance, Fabulous Boys follows the same hidden-identity premise that made the original a hit, while adapting the story and characters for a Taiwanese idol-drama audience.
