Knock Off

Knock Off follows Kim Seong-jun, an ordinary office worker whose life collapses when he loses his job during South Korea's 1997 IMF financial crisis. With legitimate work drying up around him, he drifts into the counterfeit goods trade and works his way up from small-time knockoffs to vice chairman of a full-scale counterfeiting operation, turning the era's economic desperation into his own criminal rise.

Complicating that rise is Song Hye-jeong, Seong-jun's ex-girlfriend, who becomes a special judicial police officer assigned to crack down on the counterfeit market he now belongs to. Their history together collides with her job and his business, pulling the two back into each other's lives on opposite sides of the law. Seong-jun's father, Kim Man-sik, and his sister, Kim Seong-hui, round out the family pulled along by his choices.

Directed by Park Hyeon-seok, Knock Off stars Kim Soo-hyun as Kim Seong-jun and Jo Bo-ah as Song Hye-jeong across 9 episodes on Disney+, mixing crime and dark comedy as it tracks one man's transformation from laid-off employee to counterfeit kingpin.
