Kim Soo Hyun news: back at work, no new drama yet

Kim Soo Hyun is working again but has no new drama. Since July 2026 he has shot advertising for the Philippine brand Bench, sung on Indonesian television and presented an award in Busan. Disney+ still describes his series Knock-Off as postponed, and no broadcaster, platform or agency has announced a new acting role.

What is Kim Soo Hyun doing now?

His agency, Gold Medalist, confirmed that on 14 July 2026 he filmed a commercial and did a photo shoot for Bench, his first official work since March 2025 (Korea JoongAng Daily, The Korea Herald).

On 23 August 2026 he appeared at Mahakarya RCTI 37, the Indonesian broadcaster’s anniversary special in Jakarta, thanked the organisers for inviting him and sang “Dreaming” from Dream High, the 2011 drama he starred in (Korea JoongAng Daily). On 19 September he presented the popularity award at The Fact Music Awards at Busan Asiad Main Stadium, his first official stage in Korea since March 2025 (Star News).

Two more dates are announced: a Bench fan meeting for about 20,000 people at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila in October, and the Asia Artist Awards in Kaohsiung on 5 and 6 December 2026 (Korea JoongAng Daily, Star News).

Kim Soo Hyun Knock Off: will it be released?

Not on any date yet. Disney+ postponed the series in March 2025, a month before its planned April premiere. In March 2026 The Korea Times reported industry talk of a release and a comment from his lawyer, and Disney told the paper it had no update beyond its position that the series remained on hold. After the arrest of YouTuber Kim Se-ui in May 2026, a Disney+ official again said Knock-Off remained postponed and the company’s position had not changed (The Korea Times, 28 May 2026).

Is Kim Soo Hyun still acting?

He has not been cast in anything announced. A report that he has around forty projects lined up (Gulf News) names none of them, and nothing has been confirmed by his agency, a broadcaster or a streaming service. His last broadcast drama remains Queen of Tears in 2024.

Why did he stop working in 2025?

Advertising deals ended and Knock-Off was shelved in March 2025, after allegations made following the death of the actor Kim Sae-ron, which he denied.
