Uncontrollably Fond
Synopsis
Shin Joon Young grows up as the son of a top actress and a wealthy family, until an accident in his teens leaves him with a fatal heart condition that doctors expect will shorten his life. His childhood first love, No Eul, was there the night it happened, and carries guilt over it into adulthood, while Joon Young throws himself into music and a reckless, self-destructive public image as a singer.
Years later, Joon Young, now a star performer, and No Eul, working as a producer on a music survival show, are forced back into each other's lives when their careers intersect. Joon Young's illness worsens as the series goes on, and his relationship with his mother, who prioritized his public image over his health growing up, remains strained even as she tries to reconnect with him.
No Eul's own family runs a struggling restaurant, and she balances her father's debts and her mother's health problems with her demanding job, while trying to decide whether to let herself get close to Joon Young again knowing his prognosis. As Joon Young's condition and his music career both reach a breaking point, the two work through the unresolved guilt and feelings from their shared past while No Eul's colleague Yoo Jung, a producer with his own unspoken feelings for her, complicates the reunion.
