My Love Patzzi
Synopsis
My Love Patzzi reworks the Korean folktale of Kongji and Patzzi by swapping the usual roles: Song-yee, the hot-tempered one, turns out to be the genuinely kind character, while the sweet-seeming Hee-won spends the story quietly scheming to hurt her. After losing her job directing a subversive school play, Song-yee takes work as a mascot at an amusement park, where she runs into a childhood acquaintance, Hyun-sung, and meets Seung-joon, the park owner's son, after saving him from a fire.
Romantic tension builds between Song-yee and both men as Hee-won works to pull them apart and damage Song-yee's reputation along the way, turning the old fairy-tale rivalry into a modern love triangle.
My Love Patzzi starred Jang Na-ra as Song-yee, with Kim Rae-won, Kim Jaewon, and Hong Eun-hee in the roles of Hyun-sung, Seung-joon, and Hee-won. The 10-episode series aired on MBC in 2002.
