Love Alarm

Love Alarm is set in a world where a smartphone app called Love Alarm alerts users whenever someone within ten meters has romantic feelings for them, turning attraction into something that can be tracked, displayed and publicly compared. High school student Kim Jo-jo downloads the app in the week after its launch and finds herself at the center of a triangle between Hwang Sun-oh, a wealthy but emotionally distant model who falls for her, and her childhood friend Lee Hye-yeong, the son of her family's domestic helper, who has quietly loved her for years without saying so.

As Jo-jo begins dating Sun-oh, the app turns their private feelings into public information, drawing jealousy from her cousin Park Gul-mi and forcing Jo-jo to deal with the fallout on social media as well as at home, where family hardship already weighs on her. The pressure eventually pushes her to use the app's Shield feature, which lets a user hide their feelings from the alarm entirely, as she tries to protect what she feels from everyone watching.

Kim So-hyun stars as Kim Jo-jo, with Song Kang as Hwang Sun-oh and Jung Ga-ram as Lee Hye-yeong, in the series that aired on Netflix in 2019 based on the webtoon of the same name.
